Happy Friday and welcome to Friday Five!
As you already know I’ve partnered with the Sweatpink Community and Aftershockz for a wonderful campaign to help raise awareness against breast and ovarian cancers.
On this first Friday of October we are sharing Five things that make us feel empowered! Woohoo!
If you were to take a peak into my closet you’d quickly realize I’m a bit of a pink fanatic 🙂
Yes I LOVE pink, especially that gorgeous, bright pink!
Pink is BOLD and POWERFUL!
Pink is FEMININE and FABULOUS!
Pink is the color of the heart… It makes me feel WARM, LOVED and STRONG!
And Pink is the color we wear to show our support and love for women across the globe fighting against breast cancer, especially during the month of October which has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
So yes, Pink makes me feel EMPOWERED!!!
Here are Five MORE things that make me feel empowered:
My faith is my ROCK!
It is the foundation upon which I stand.
It is what helps me face any challenge with confidence and the certainty that I WILL come through victorious!
It is what keeps me humble.
It is what stirs my heart and lets me see the good in everyone around me.
It is what sets me on FIRE and fills my life with passion!
God has really spoiled me in the family department!
My parents have raised me to be strong and independent, with a caring and generous heart. To never believe that I am above anyone else and to always have time for someone in need. They’ve shown me what a strong marriage is and what it means to LOVE in the most real and selfless way. They’ve taught me what being a good parent is and how to guide my daughters without stifling them.
My girls are my world and the reason I am such a strong mom. I want them to KNOW with every inch of their being, they are loved and respected unconditionally. That they have the power to BE anything and anyone they choose to be. That they are STRONG, POWERFUL, UNSTOPPABLE women!
My husband is the one who makes my heart skip and makes me whole.
My siblings are the greatest gift in the world. They are all loving, giving, amazing individuals and together we truly rock!
I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many fierce women in my life!
Women who are strong physically and mentally.
Women who know their worth and are not ashamed to stand tall and mighty.
Women who LOVE being women — who are strong, yet vulnerable… Giving but know how to receive as well…
The power of music is undeniable!
Music has a pulse that touches my soul. It can lift me up when I’m down, push me when I lack stamina, soothe me when I hurt.
I love all sorts of music but you’ll find mostly contemporary Christian music. It’s music that’s safe and that will always make me feel empowered, not objectified or overly sexualized as so much pop music does this days. I don’t have to worry about offensive language. I can put my Aftershokz Pink Trekz Titanium headphones, turn up my tunes, and focus on my workout 🙂
FUN AND CHALLENGING WORKOUTS
Speaking of workouts, there truly is nothing like a good workout to make me feel empowered. Whether I’m lifting weights, pushing boundaries with a challenging HIIT workout, dancing my little heart out in a Zumba class or hanging from a piece of fabric 20 feet in the air I LOVE a solid workout!
FITNESS is a mighty tool, available to each and everyone of us, and it’s about so much more than looking good. But let’s be honest, looking our best IS Empowering! I love looking in the mirror and loving the woman I see and I sure hope you do too. 🙂
I love knowing I’m strong physically even more.
That I have the mindset to push past my limits.
That I can face any challenge with confidence.
I can and will fight for the ones I love with all my might. I will fight to stay healthy so that I may give fully for decades to come.
