Mouthwatering Garlic and Mushroom Turkey Meatballs

Garlic and Mushroom turkey meatballs recipe image

My eight year old loves meatballs.

She loves them drenched in marinara sauce over spaghetti squash…

She loves them served with sautéed spinach or kale… Yes I know I am eternally blessed to have an eight year old who loves spinach and kale 🙂

She loves them as finger foods she can gobble down as an after school snack…

And she loves to help me make them, especially mixing up all the ingredients together with her bare hands. Oh what fun!

I was inspired to create these garlic and mushroom turkey meatballs to change things up a little and make a meatball that was a little lighter without any compromise on flavor. We all love mushrooms sautéed with garlic and parsley so voilà!

These meatballs are gluten free, super healthy and absolutely scrumptious!

Using your hands or a wooden spoon mix until all ingredients are well incorporated, then form the mixture into one to one and half inch balls.

Place the balls into a shallow baking dish and cook covered in the oven for about 25 minutes.

They’ll come out nice and juicy and full of flavor, ready to be savored by all 🙂

  2. I’ve used ground turkey for many things but not meatballs. This recipe looks yummy and will make for my family. Thanks for sharing.

    • You are most welcome Carolyn! I love using turkey as an alternative to ground beef, to give a little variety as well as too keep things on the lighter side. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does 🙂

  3. Jo-Ann Brightman says:

I love that these mushrooms have so much garlic and parsley andno breadcrumbs or eggs in them.

    • Simple, clean and tasty Jo-Ann, that’s it. I don’t ever use breadcrumbs in my meatballs. I don’t feel they are needed. Without the breadcrumbs there is no need for eggs either 🙂 I hope you enjoy there as much as my family does 🙂

  9. KATE SARSFIELD says:

I love homemade meatballs (because I get the leftovers!). I roll mine in porridge oats (oatmeal). Gives them a crunchy texture when you bite into them and of course is great dietary fibre.

I love red meat, I can’t help it I really do. BUT lately I have been eating ground chicken and ground turkey and experimenting with different meals and I realize I love it! I want to try to eat lighter and healthier in order to manage my weight better so thank you for this recipe I look forward to trying it out! 🙂

    • I love red me too Clojo, but i don’t eat it more than once a week if that for much of the same reasons as you. When I do eat red meat I make sure to buy grass fed and finished beef or lamb from a local farmer so that I can be assured I am getting the best quality meat possible. So turkey and chicken are my staple foods and I love coming up with tasty ways to prepare them. They are such easy meats to prepare and so versatile 🙂 I think you are going to love these meatballs. Enjoy and all the best on your healthy eating journey!
