Getting Started with BeFit Fat Burn challenge

I love new beginnings!

Especially when those new beginnings are all about self care and self love and that’s what this month is all about.

I’m testing out the BeFit 30 Day Fat Burn program thanks to my SweatPink community.   I’ll be sharing my thoughts about this program with you as we go along, so stay tuned for mid point check in, in the next couple of weeks and a complete review at the end of the month.

As the name implies, BeFit 30 Day Fat Burn is designed to jump start your weight loss journey and keep you motivated as you begin to the results you are looking for. Ultimately BeFit aims to support you in living your healthiest life ever and #BeFitAllYear!

Now I’ll be honest,  I’m not personally looking to lose weight.  However, because I’m asked to recommend programs all the time I like to personally try out as many as I can — after checking them out, of course, to see if they meet my criteria.  This way I can give you an honest and personal opinion about the program itself, its strength and weaknesses and make suggestions on how to make the most of it.

I also have a 15 year old daughter who is anxious to shed a few pounds and has been looking for a program that is manageable. After taking a quick look, I feel comfortable having her try the program with me.  I’ve run this by her doctor to get clearance from her since the program does include nutritional supplements with caffeine designed to turn up your metabolism and maximize fat burn.

This is something I encourage you to do no matter what before you start with any new weight loss or exercise program.  Check in with your health care provider as no one knows you better.  Since this program includes nutritional supplements bring them in to your health care provide or print out a list of ingredients before your visit so you can have the peace of mind that there are no contraindications for you.

Let’s take a look at each one of these individually

Intro Video

As you would expect this video gives you an overview of the 30-day program. We meet our two beautiful hosts, Astrid McGuire and Danielle Pascente.  Astrid and Danielle go over the workout program and let us know what to expect. They share a link to the workout calendar and the video play list you’ll need for your daily exercise.

30 Day Workout Calendar

This is your blueprint for the next 39 days. You can download the calendar here, print it and place it in plain view where you can consult is daily to select the workout of the day.  You’ll notice that there are rest days on your calendar. Respect those!  Your body will thank you 🙂

Feel free to check off each workout as you complete it and celebrate your accomplishments as you go along.

30 Day Workout Video Playlist

This is the core of your program – a playlist of the different workouts on your calendar and the path to the transformation you are looking for.

Before deciding to let my daughter try the program I looked at all the videos.

Here are my thoughts:

They are short and jam packed with interesting exercises with a good balance of cardio and strength.
They are pretty intense with some rather intense move, which could be intimidating for someone, like my daughter, who has not exercised for quite some time.
These are the kind of workouts I love but I’m curious to see how my daughter does with them.

BeFit Nutritional Supplements

These are proprietary products that are designed to support you in your healthy fat burn journey.

The nutritional products I received are:

  1. Whey protein powder, vanilla
  2. Pre-workout drink mix
  3. Fat Burn dietary supplement

BeFit Whey Protein 

This is a protein powder, not a meal replacement.  BeFit Whey Protein is a whey isolate and casein combination designed to support muscle recovery after your workout as well as satisfy your cravings and help curb your hunger. Protein in general will keep you feeling full longer than carbs and are an essential ingredient in any healthy meal plan.   I recommend using this protein powder within half and hour after your workout to maximize your recovery.

Each serving of BeFit Whey Protein gives you a generous 22 g of protein at 100 calories each. This protein powder is gluten free, sugar free and GMO free. I frowned when I saw that it contains stevia as I generally dislike stevia products. No matter what I can detect it and don’t care for the bitter after taste.

So… I had  to make a shake and try it out.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised.  The BeFit Whey Protein actually taste great! I’m definitely happy about that 🙂

BeFit Pre-Workout

At 5 calories per serving the BeFit Pre-Workout is GMO and sugar free. This product is going to essentially turn up your furnace!  It is designed to boost energy and endurance as well as focus.

Now I have to warn you, it does not taste great.  Nope, I don’t care for the taste one bit but I honestly have rarely come across a pre-workout product that I’ve enjoyed with the exception of two.

BeFit pre0-workout does contain guarana which is caffeine so make sure you get clearance from your health care provider for using this product.

BeFit BURN

The BeFit BURN completes this trio and is to be used before your main meal.  It is designed to do two things:

  1. increase thermogenesis (heat) thus increasing your body’s ability to metabolize and burn fat
  2. help to curb your appetite

This product also contains caffeine so again be aware of this and make sure you are safe to take it.

You know I’m a huge advocate of proper hydration and I am going to insist once again that you drink ample amounts of water with this program, especially because two of the products contain caffeine.   I would also personally skip that daily cup of coffee, at least in the first few weeks, so you can properly assess these products and not over do it with the caffeine.

Now that you’ve got a good overview of the BeFit 30 Day Fat Burn program it’s time for me and my daughter to get to work and put it to the test 🙂
