My 5 Fave Stretches and 3 Tips for Toning your Glutes!

I can’t believe its already week 3 of the #BosuStrong challenge, time flies when you’re having fun! Last week we focused on balance and I was proud of myself for inspiring many of you to actively create balance in your life. This week its all about stretching and toning – so make sure you join in on the fun!

Collage of 4 stretches

Since we’re talking about stretching, here are 5 of my all time favorite stretches:

I love to stretch my legs by doing splits in every direction possible 🙂

My favorite total body stretch is the back bend.  Yes I know it sounds crazy but it hits my back, legs and shoulders and feels amazing on my core!

I swear when I stretch my body it feels like all the stress vanishes!

I stretch my mind by being curious and always learning new things.

I try to stretch out of my comfort zone by trying new activities, such as public speaking, chairing a fundraiser — or like this crazy stunt on the trapeze — hanging upside down by my ankles! (please do not try this at home 😉 _

And if you’re looking for a great way to tone your glutes and lift your buttocks, here are my fave 3 tips (tricks, advice, words of wisdom, etc):

My 3 Favorite exercises to tone your glutes are Scorpion, Lunges and Squats.  When it comes to your squats, the deeper the better and always make sure you are sitting back as though you are sitting in a chair and keep the weight on your heels. And squeeze your buttocks as you return to standing.

Walk, Walk and Walk some more! Yes you should walk everyday! Park at the farthest end of the parking lot, take the stairs any time you have the option.

Get a good night’s sleep!  Remember during your workout you are putting in a Request for Transformation. The actual transformation happens when you are off in dream land 🙂

  14. My glutes are always so tight! These look like great stretches – I need to work on my flexibility.

    • I hear you Danielle! I used to take my flexibility for granted but have learned how foolish that is. There was a time when I hated stretching… That was when we were taught to do static stretches and hold them for ungodly long periods on cold muscles! Now I love stretching! It’s a reward after a good workout and such a healthy way to unwind!

  15. Great tips. I definitely need to add some stretching into my exercise routine.

  16. I’ve not tried these or any other stretching techniques before. My glutes and a lot of other things could use some toning. Or a miracle LOL.

  17. Impressive! Im pregnant right now but this is definitely great motivation for post baby
