Touched by a Miracle

It never ceases to amaze how God orchestrates events in our lives and the people we meet to be just what we need at just the right time…

Faith

These past few months have been the most challenging months of my life and extremely trying for our family.

I’ve been shaken to the core, have cried oceans of tears, and found myself more than once asking “How could this be?”

Time and again I’ve wanted to cave in to the feeling of hopelessness….

Feeling beaten …

Defeated…

Broken.

I’ve been through my fair share of hardship as a child, have experienced darkness no child should ever know, yet I found myself completely unprepared.

There is no greater pain for a mother than to see her child suffer and not be able to take the pain away.   To stand by loving, holding, nurturing, soothing, and yet knowing the pain is too great…

To want more than anything for life to go back to “the way it was” and yet know it never will.

Yet through it all I have felt peace, strength and faith.. God is my rock and the only reason I can face new challenges every day knowing that in God’s time this too shall pass. That we will come out of these trials stronger than ever… That we will look back and smile at God’s amazing grace.  His wisdom and infinite mercy.

My weekend was once again filled with tears and heart ache and in the midst of it all a beautiful ray of sunshine!

I met Angela Alexander about a year ago at an author’s conference. I was immediately touched by the deep and powerful joy that she radiates. Nothing in her composure could have prepared me for the story she shared one afternoon.  Fifteen years ago, Angela lost her two eight year old sons in a car accident. She shares her story in her book “Miracles in Action: Turning Pin into Power and Grief into Peace”. As I read page after page, my heart ached with such deep pain for this beautiful woman who has experienced more than a lifetime of sorrow.

But it is her undying faith and obedience to God that touched me the most profoundly.  Angela is at peace.  She is joyful!  She is a beacon of hope to all who feel lost and overwhelmed.  And the undeniable proof that all things are truly possible with God.

To rejoice after such a loss is truly a miracle.

I was blessed with Angela’s joyful presence this past Sunday and I soaked up all the sunshine I could! In her presence I felt peace.  joy.  Certainty that all will be well in the end.

We joined Angela and a few hundred of her friends for a screening of her brand new documentary “Miracles in Action.”  What a powerful testimony!

Again I was swept into her world…

Grieving with her for the many losses she has known…

Awed by her unyielding and beautiful faith…

Deeply moved by her intoxicating joy…

God’s timing is perfect! He knew this was exactly what I needed, right now, to gather my strength and keep fighting for my daughter.

If you want to know more about Angela you can read my review of her book or go to her website. I strongly encourage you to purchase her DVD and share it with your loved ones.

We all encounter hardships, some so powerful they threaten to destroy us.  But as Angela demonstrates so beautifully, we are never alone in these trials and when we push aside all the distractions and make room for God, we can and will find peace and joy!

We can choose to live God’s miracles.
