Change Your Life in 30 Days

Welcome to the 30 Day Challenge!  In this video I share with you one of my favorite tools for achieving change.  If you prefer you can read on below and get the “condensed” version.  My wish for you is that you take action and commit to a 30 Day challenge for the month of March. When you do you can count on my support.  Just let me know by using the comments box below what your challenge is and how I can best support you!

I took my first 30 Day Challenge in August 2008.  I was working as the director of development for a big Los Angeles based nonprofit organization.  We provided online based services to thousands of other nonprofits worldwide.

Although I was well versed in marketing, having worked on corporate videos and commercials for close to 20 years, I was completely unfamiliar with the way business worked online.

So I took Ed Dale’s “30 Day Challenge”, a fantastic class where I learned about everything from market research, to search engine optimization, keywords and content creation.

I created a website that within 2 months was on the front page of Google for my chosen keywords, and has remained on that first page, in number 1, 2 or 3 position ever since.  You can search Greens Powder on Google and you’ll find my site www.greenspowder.net.

Although I did not do much with that site until recently, I share this story with you to show you the power of “The 30 Day Challenge” — in the span of a month I learned a completely new set of skills in an environment that until then was completely foreign to me, and achieved tremendous success.

And you can too.

The power of the 30 Day Challenge is in it’s simplicity — you commit to trying something new or doing something you’ve always dreamed about but never thought you had time for, for 30 days.

You can apply this to any area of your life.  Focus on personal growth, business growth, spiritual growth, fun…

Whatever you choose for your challenge, here are a few simple steps to keep you on track.

1. Choose something meaningful

What is it that you’ve always dreamed of trying but never thought you could? Do you want to change a habit but giving it up “for life” seems overwhelming?  Do you want to lose weight? Go to bed before midnight everyday?  Learn Social Media Marketing? Read more? Paint? Learn salsa dancing?  Give up dairy? Gluten? Smoking?
The possibilities are truly endless, and you can try ANYTHING because it’s only for 30 days.

2. Tell the world!

Okay maybe not the whole world, but tell a friend, your spouse, your children.  Let your loved ones know that you are committing to this and enlist their support.  The post it on your fridge, your bathroom mirror, your Facebook page.. and don’t forget to post it on our Scrumptious Moms page as well so we can cheer you on and celebrate your success

3. Journal about it

Journaling is one of the most powerful and beautiful tools I know of when it comes to really committing to change.  The act of writing things down makes them more real.  It solidifies the experience in your mind and in a safe place that you can come back to whenever you choose to.  Writing in your journal daily also provides you with accountability — you don’t want to skip a day.

4. Take it one day at a time

Live in the moment, and commit to yourself, to your new past time, your new skill one day at a time.  And relish the experience!  Learning something new can trigger all sorts of feelings, from fear to joy.  Allow yourself to feel the whole gamut and savor those moments.

5. Celebrate!

This challenge is about doing something for YOU!  It’s about shaking yourself up a little bit and pushing yourself in a new direction. Be proud of your achievement and celebrate.  As human beings we both crave change but naturally resist it.  So see your journey through and be proud of your achievement.

I love the 30 Day Challenge because it is simple and within everyone’s reach.  It’s a powerful weapon to get out of that “stuck” place we find ourselves in every now and then and get moving.  What a gift to be able to try something new, every 30 days!

My challenge for this month is to get back into a steady workout routine.  I love working out but my favorite class was cancelled and I’ve fallen out of my good habits, because I haven’t found a new class that excites me as much.  Well that’s it, no more excuses.

I hope you’ll join me, and commit to a challenge that is all about YOU!  Remember to let me know by entering your challenge below.  Have fun!!!
