Ah the joy of a new baby…

Such a precious time for the expecting mom!

A time to cherish and a time to celebrate… mom and baby 🙂

Have I told you how much I LOVE to host a baby shower?

From choosing a theme to planning out the menu and choosing all the party favors and decorations… It’s a time of absolute joy!  Just thinking about it puts a giant smile on my face 🙂

I will be planning a couple of baby showers in the next few months and I am so excited to have discovered! has everything you need to host the perfect baby shower — from party favors, to decorations, invitations and even special gifts to treat that special mom-to-be to the most loving baby shower ever.

The Perfect Time of Day

Will you be hosting a brunch or an afternoon tea?

Ask the mom-to-be when she feels her best and plan her shower during that time. You want to make sure she’ll be full of energy and able to enjoy all the tender loving care.

It also makes menu planning all that much easier.

Whatever the occasion I love making mini quiches and all sorts of fun finger foods.  There is just something about tiny bites and babies … 🙂

I also LOVE to make a beautiful cake with fresh raspberries or other seasonable fruits.

Oh and champagne… You’ve got to toast mom-to-be and her little bundle of joy!

The Perfect Theme

I’m sure the mom-to-be will have a special theme in mind, but if she doesn’t has lots of fun baby shower theme ideas to inspire you. From vintage to animal themed, celebrating the little prince or princess or a summer BBQ, you’ll find all sorts of fun and unique ideas.

I’m a bit of a nostalgic and romantic myself and love all things with a vintage or classic flair and absolutely love all the choices on their website.

The Perfect Party Favors

Picking party favors is one of my favorite things to do, but I must say it’s so hard to choose just one! Baby shower party favors are always so precious!

Once you have your theme this part will be a lot easier.

I found so many sweet HotRef Party Favors!

Take a look at these sweet little silver carriage bookmarks! Silver baby carriage bookmark These little tin-can candles are absolutely precious… Baby animals personalized tin can candles Wouldn’t you just love one of these “About to Hatch” egg beaters! Seriously, can it get any cuter? You’ll also find lots of decorations that match your theme and party favors to turn your patio or living room into a little baby heaven for the day 🙂

I love making a diaper cake as the center piece for the gift table. God knows a new mom can never have too many diapers! I love adding all sorts of little gifts like teething rings and plush rattles…

The Perfect Shower Activities

Do you have a favorite baby shower game?

The list of fun things to do is truly endless and you can get as silly as you want.

One of my favorite games is “Guess how big mommy’s tummy is” — Each guest tries to guess the circumference of mommy’s tummy and cuts a piece of yarn of that size… We always laugh so hard when we measure the different pieces!

If the expecting parents have not shared baby’s gender or name, guessing names is always fun, and you never know, you just might come up with the perfect name…

That Personal Touch

Because I want mom-to-be to hold on to that special day far beyond the day itself, I always include one special craft that will have each guest creating something unique for the mom-to-be to hold onto forever.

When I hosted my friend Kristy’s shower, I bought plain white onesies in different sizes, from 3 months to 18 months, and had each guest decorate one of the onesies with fabric paints and other fun things. We strung the finished onesies on a clothe line with old fashioned clothes pins which became the sweetest decorations.
