Mulberry Hazelnut Gluten Free Muesli

One of my favorite cereals growing up was Müesli. I don’t remember exactly when I fell in love with this power breakfast but I suspect it was during one of our many family ski trips to Switzerland and Austria.  Müesli is often served as a breakfast cereal which makes sense since it is packed with wholesome nutrition that provided us with all the energy we needed before hitting the slopes for the day.

Müesli is a raw cereal combining whole grains, nuts, seeds and dried fruits.  It’s not as easy to find here in the US as it is in Europe so I decided to come up with my own recipe for it.  It has quickly become a favorite with my girls as well as my hubby,

I use white Turkish mulberries to add a little natural sweetness. These berries are not only delicious, they are loaded with vitamins and minerals and even a little protein.

This müesli is just as delicious sprinkled over Greek yogurt as it is with your favorite milk.

    • Oh how lucky you are Jasmine! Mulberries are a delicious superfood with so many healthy nutrients! I enjoy fresh mulberries when I visit my parents in the South of France in the summer. They are fabulous! Just enough sweetness but not too much!

this sounds awesome. I have fibromyalgia and some people say since they went gluten free they have had a lot less pain. I’ve decided to go gluten free to see if it will help me. Thanks again i will definitely try this

    • Oh I hope you find some relief Joy! Living in pain is so draining and robs you of so much joy. I’m a new person since going gluten free and the best part is that once I committed it was’t so hard. I had to be diligent about reading labels and asking for the list of ingredients when dining out, but you realize it’s not a bog deal when you start feeling so much better! All the best to you 🙂

  16. I’ve heard of but never tried this. I’m a meat and potato lover. This sounds like something my husband would like. He tends to enjoy healthy foods.I do like hazelnut, so, I may give this a try. Who knows? I may like it.

  17. I believe I have seen Müesli once or twice at stores such as The Fresh Market, but wasn’t sure how well I’d like it. I’m now convinced that I’ll definitely have to give it a try sometime.
