When All That Sustains Me Is Prayer

My world collapsed yesterday…

The news I received so devastating I’m still struggling to process…

A deep chill spread through my body that nothing can thaw…

As hot tears ran freely down my tormented face, each breath a struggle, and darkness threatened to envelop me, I fell to my knees and cried out to my Lord…

Mathew-1128.M

And when a semblance of peace finally stirred in the depth of my soul, I reached out to a handful of friends, with nothing more than a simple plea: “Please pray for me!”

No details.

Just a heartfelt and desperate request.

Some news just can’t be shared, but God knows our needs and He listens.

Prayer has been my sustenance the last few months. I’ve reached out to my prayer warriors time and again and they have been the greatest blessing.  They’ve held me up and their prayers have eased my burden in a way that nothing else can.

And so today I want to say simply “Thank you!”

Thank you for holding me and my family in prayer. For lifting me up each time I fall… Offering your shoulder when I need to cry… And holding my hand each step of the way.

Your prayers fill my heart and wrap me in a blanket of love.

They bring me peace in the midst of chaos.

They let me know that you are near and that God will never fail me.
